Before this project, I had only experimented with Illustrator a little bit and I wanted to push myself farther with "Hot Shot". I chose a literal approach and focused on style and execution. I intended for color and pattern vibrations to give a hot and loud visual effect. I then chose the cream colored flame to bring balance to the composition. I wanted there to be a dialogue between new and old as well, since "hot shot" could be seen as dated. Therefore, I chose a Memphis pattern theme that feels slightly dated that connects to the graphic contemporary execution.
